The “efficiency” to be saved by privatization is a very shallow smokescreen. There has never been one shred of proof that efficiency and private practice are linked. There is oodles of proof that expenses and privatization are linked, but cutting off your nose to spite your face seems like a pretty funny way to save money.

Everyone who proposes privatizing a crown corporation should be forced to study the total clusterfuck that was the attempt at privatizing Ontario Hydro under Harris. This report promises all the great things that private electricity promised.
