Elizabeth May on NetRoots

NetRoots

As some of you may be aware, NetRoots is an aggregator for politicians and political hopefuls to bring their blogs, their ideas and their concerns to the voting public.

The public in turn can post and with luck the politicians involved will answer questions.

Today NetRoots is pleased to announce that Elizabeth May has guest blogged.

You can read, and if you choose respond, here http://netroots.ca/

Anger, Resentment & Politics

10/22/2007 by Debra

The world needs anger. The world often continues to allow evil because it isn’t angry enough. ~Bede Jarrett

Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight. ~Phyllis Diller

In certain trying circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity furnishes a relief denied even to prayer. ~Mark Twain

Life has intervened lately on my ability to read and/or blog as often as I would like. However, I have reached a state of anger and resentment of the whole political process that I simply must vent.

It would appear that the concept of democracy has all but been lost.

The current Harper Government™ seems to have confused being elected by a modest number of people with absolute right to mob rule. Further evidence of the need to reframe our current process. The lack of will shown by the other parties to partake in any form of fight against this Bush wannabe is an outrage. They are all, as modern day Nero’s, fiddling while all our hard won rights and cherished freedoms burn.

Speaking frankly as a voter, a citizen, a woman, A CANADIAN, I really don’t give a rat’s furry ass how your poll numbers look. Want better poll showings? DO SOMETHING! SAY SOMETHING!

Prove you are there to do more than warm seats and gather pensions.

Scattered Scribblings

04/14/2007 by Debra

A May/Dion romance:

An interesting way to do politics. Deprive people of the right to vote for all parties. Work out backroom deals in the front room thereby pretending it is something other than what it is. Pretend it is visionary and slur all detractors with the indefensible partisan label. While the thing itself smacks of all that is wrong with politics, the spin is genius. Turner Joins Liberals

02/06/2007 by Debra

Reports from all over today about Garth joining the green Dions.

Many thought Turner would have encamped with E. May’s Greens.

However, in an exclusive interview with A.R. Media Mr. Turner had this to say;

I support the Green Party, some enviromentalists will do anything so better the Green Party than Greenpeace.

But I have talked people out of joining the Green Party and can’t see anything that would induce/reduce me to joining them.

I’d like to see tax incentives and counselling to help prevent more people from joining the Green Party.

I hope people will realize that there are radicals on either side not willing to listen to each other.
Making this a difficult and nuanced decision.

To quote St. Thomas Aquinas, “Who knows when political life begins?”

This is par-o-dy

Survey says

02/02/2007 by Debra

Don’t know how many of you will indulge me in this but here goes.

If you feel so inclined post a comment giving one or two reasons why you vote for the party you do. In other words what values, beliefs, policies what have you that you hold near and dear do they represent.

And if you are feeling brave list one or two things where you part company or you feel they could improve.

Anyone?
