I’m wondering who is behind the polling questions on the latest Angus Reid poll. Most deal with questions of confidence around the parties and leaders and whether you support coalition. There was also this question among the mix;
Which of these political systems do you think would be best for Canada?

A presidential system, with an executive branch that is separate from the legislature
The current parliamentary system, with the prime minister and cabinet exercising power
A semi-presidential system, with a president in charge of foreign policy and a prime minister in charge of domestic policy
Not sure
A Presidential or Semi-Presidential system? Wonder who’s looking into garnering support for that?

Interesting catch April R. Canadianist also dissected some of the questions on the Ipsos-Reid poll that were blatantly drawn from Harper’s talking points.

Harper is chomping at the bit to transform us into a Republic. There’s no doubt of that. I’m sure the fall-out from this so-called “crisis” (that he alone manufactured) is going to be electoral reform that doesn’t necessarily lead to PR but to US inspired changes. I heard Stephen Fletcher on my local radio drive home program and couldn’t believe how he kept up with the lies and misconceptions that Harper used in describing what was going on in Parliament. And he is charged with electoral reform. Arghhhhh!

I am increasingly appalled, each time I hear another Con Talking Point, by what they’re doing. Is this Presto Manno’s idea of a joke? Or has Hair Harper gone mad?

Hi April: I sent out links to your post to my large list. This shows that the situation is accelerating according to Harper’s plans. His machinations are moving as closer toward US integration: SPP/NAU and the amero. US will crash their dollar end of January, as they’ll never be able to repay stratospheric debt. They’ll bring in the amero and leave those holding USD’s with more worthless junk. Harper’s doing his US bosses’ bidding with unrestrained glee. That’s why he’s been so smug and cocky. He knows that no matter what he says or does, the wheels are already set in motion and we’re letting him get away with it. He’s manipulating everything and everyone. The mainstream media might as well all shut down anyway for they only propagate his lies… Progressives have been trying to get the truth out, but many people don’t want to listen: they believe that Harper is the best for our country and that his is the ‘legitimate’ government. So pervasive is the propaganda and so ignorant the sheeple…
