Texas wanna be bomber indicted

Paul Ross Evans, 27, was indicted Tuesday for attempting to use an explosive incendiary bomb on the Austin’s Women’s Health Clinic.
Evans faces one count each of attempting to use weapons of mass destruction, malicious attempt to damage a building, and possession of a destructive device by a convicted felon. He’s also facing two other counts related to the incident.

The charges against Evans include malicious attempt to damage a building and property by means of explosive and fire, possession of a destructive device by a convicted felon and two counts of use and carrying of a destructive device in relation to a crime of violence.
Abortion advocates attempted to turn the isolated incident involving someone unaffiliated with the pro-life movement into a political statement.
“We live in fear of anti-choice extremism,” local Planned Parenthood CEO Ken Lambrecht told News 8 in response to the incident. “We perform routine quarterly drills for bomb threats. We had one this very week, and our clinic is constantly aware of a potential threat.”
But Texas Alliance for Life director Joe Pojman said that pro-life advocates are peaceful people and that any political movement has individual vigilantes that act on their own wrongheaded ideas.
“We get painted with the same brush as someone who is a criminal. We only condone peaceful legal activities,” he said.

So you’re a grandpa of a 10 month old. What do you buy the little tyke? A nice stuffy for his room, a baseball glove for catching practise when he’s older, a savings bond for college. Great ideas all but not as special as a 12-gauge Beretta shotgun.

What 10 month old wouldn’t appreciate that? I’m sure Stewie would.
Little Bubba ( did not make it up ) might not be able to pop off a couple of rounds yet but I’m guessing he has a future in firearms.

Dad even sent in for a firearm owner’s identification card, and the police issued it;

Bubba Ludwig can’t walk, talk or open the refrigerator door – but he does have his very own Illinois gun permit.
The 10-month-old, whose given name is Howard David Ludwig, was issued a firearm owner’s identification card after his father, Howard Ludwig, paid the US$5 fee and filled out the application, not expecting to actually receive one.
The card lists the baby’s height (2 feet, 3 inches), weight (20 pounds) and has a scribble where the signature should be.
With some exceptions, the cards are required of any Illinois residents purchasing or possessing firearms or ammunition within the state. There are no age restrictions on the cards, an official said.

Thou shalt not steal

and other commandments that don’t seem to matter.

It seems passing strange to me that those who so devoutly wish to force their religious beliefs on an entire country are so out of touch with the tenets therein.

When the question was rightly asked why the official Canadian logo appeared on some March for Life banners a spokesperson replied that such theft is a common occurrence. How odd.

The bible I read specifically spoke of theft as wrong, certainly not something to be justified and brushed off.

There is, of course, the real possibility that such use of logo was sanctioned by the Harper Government™. In either case I believe we are owed an explanation.

If the logo was used without permission I certainly hope those involved will receive the same force of law as others have.

Conrad Black had some interesting opinions on Canada

a few days after his induction into the British House of Lords and new permanent residence in London, at a November 2001 speech to the Vancouver-based Fraser Institute: “[Leaving Canada has been] my gesture against the condition Irving Layton described 35 years ago as the Canadian political and intellectual communities’ tendency to regard ‘cowardice as wisdom, philistinism as Olympian serenity and the spitefulness of the weak as moral indignation. Surely we, or as I must now say, with some regret, you, can do better than this.”
On the anti-Americanism of the Canadian media (ibid): “Canada’s media should have done a more efficient job than they have of informing Canadians of [the Americans’) exemplary competitive performance. Instead, Canadian media have tended to focus excessively on perceived American shortcomings.”

Infallable? Well…..maybe not..

I wonder if Benny looks back fondly on the days when a pope had real authority. Now, just like the Queen, there is more pomp than power.

Why these days a pope can’t even threaten the church members without some spin doctor coming along to say, “Look Benny doesn’t always mean what he says. Smile, nod make him feel good but don’t take him too seriously.” [Read more…] about Infallable? Well…..maybe not..

Get violence off the streets and back in children’s organizations

james cartman Don’t let your kid learn about guns from just any gang, have them learn from one which is well established and has lots of street cred.

Cale Northey went to a Scouts Canada camp to learn about gun safety. He came back with a “licence to kill.”
That’s how his parents view the badge the 11-year-old brought home from a target shooting event in Oshawa last weekend.
The badge features an Agent 007-type figure pointing a gun with a red target over his heart.
“I think it’s terrible,” said Cale’s mother, Jane Northey. “We’ve got kids shooting up everyone these days. What kind of message are we sending them? This badge is a licence to kill sponsored by Scouts Canada.”
The event for Whitby Scouts involved a target-shooting competition using pellet guns and included instruction on safety.
“It was exciting because my mom never lets me use guns,” said Cale, who’s been a Cub for three years. “We learned you have to be really safe with them and not point them anywhere else besides the target, and that they’re very dangerous.”
Northey, a teacher, said she wrestled with the decision to let Cale attend but relented so he could learn “just how dangerous these weapons really are.” She was shocked when she saw the badge.
When she complained to Debra Yeomans, Whitby-area commissioner for Scouts Canada’s White Pine Council, she was told the badge was voted on by leaders who perceived it as something “cool” the youngsters would love.

The national office has asked for the badges to be returned, however, the gun training is still part of the program. The good news is they will have already received some training to go fight America’s wars!
