Turner Joins Liberals
Reports from all over today about Garth joining the green Dions.
Many thought Turner would have encamped with E. May’s Greens.
However, in an exclusive interview with A.R. Media Mr. Turner had this to say;
I support the Green Party, some enviromentalists will do anything so better the Green Party than Greenpeace.
But I have talked people out of joining the Green Party and can’t see anything that would induce/reduce me to joining them.
I’d like to see tax incentives and counselling to help prevent more people from joining the Green Party.
I hope people will realize that there are radicals on either side not willing to listen to each other.
Making this a difficult and nuanced decision. To quote St. Thomas Aquinas, “Who knows when political life begins?”

Anti-pregnancy people launch campaign!
Berlynn
(OTTAWA) A radical group of anti-pregnancy extemists launched their political campaign to eliminate pregnancy with a new website this week. Birth Pangs will be an organizing centre of support in their call for legislation to end pregnancies in Canada.
April Reign, the group’s spokesperson said, “The facts show that carrying a pregnancy to term is more dangerous than other medical procedures. And then there are the post-partum issues: depression, sleepless nights, teenagers.”
Indeed, pregnancy can cause women to suffer physical and psychological damage. The risks of stretchmarks and post partum depression are high. Many go into it at an extremely young age when thoughtless adults assure them they are making the right choice. Many have pregnancy thrust upon them.
Rates of death, also known as maternal morbidity, are between four and five per 100,000 births. “Though this number may seem low,” said Reign, “These lives could have been saved if we had laws against pregnancy.”
The group will initiate a pan-Canadian lobby campaign early next month.

Yet more sex discrimination
Yes we’ve all heard of Wiarton Willie and Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil but how many have heard of Woody? No, not that kind.
Woody is a female groundhog who has correctly predicted spring on six out of eight occasions.
Although male groundhogs have an advantage in getting hired, female groundhogs have an advantage in accuracy. Perhaps the female groundhogs need to advocate for fair hiring practises.
Richard Grant, executive director of the Howell Conference and Nature Center tells us that female groundhogs are more reliable predictors of weather because they generally have more responsibility. They are the care givers and bringers of bacon for their families.
Male groundhogs do have their responsibilities too.
When asked about these responsibilities Grant replied;
“What do male groundhogs do? They mate . . . and then they get hit by cars.”

Top Ten Reasons why Top Ten Lists Suck
This is more specifically about blogging but really could relate to anything.
10. Top Ten lists are narrow in scope.
There are various points of view, methods of approach, writing styles, etc, to choose ten requires too narrow a focus.
9. Top Ten lists focus on too few issues
There are so many issues (politics, gender issues, aid, policy, parenting) to create a top ten requires ignoring issues
8. Top Ten lists are often made up of friends or sucking up
7. Top Ten lists are like High School Cool Kids Klubs
6. Top Ten lists are boring ( well not this one 😉 ) [Read more…] about Top Ten Reasons why Top Ten Lists Suck
Nuance, it’s the new black!
Nuance used to be a good word
Dictionary meaning:
1. A subtle or slight degree of difference, as in meaning, feeling, or tone; a gradation.
2. Expression or appreciation of subtle shades of meaning, feeling, or tone: a rich artistic performance, full of nuance.
New meaning:
1. Riding the fence with a picket up your ass (see E. May abortion policy)
2.Trying to save corporate face by changing a policy but pretending not to..

Royal Bank has changed its U.S. dollar account policy and will now let dual nationality Canadian customers open the accounts as long as they meet standard residency and other requirements.
Canada’s biggest bank issued what it called a clarification of its policies “due to confusion” surrounding the issue.
A brief statement from the bank said it asks for proof of citizenship and residency for any individual client wanting to open a U.S. dollar account.
“With some exceptions, RBC will provide a U.S. dollar account to dual citizens of sanctioned countries as long as they meet our ‘know your client’ and ‘anti-money laundering’ requirements, which include proof of residency in Canada,” the bank said.
An RBC spokesman in Montreal said the bank “just nuanced our position to a certain extent.”
